I wrote an article in re: the ITU'S WCIT-12, which every Tom, Dick and Stallman of the open access community are apeshittin' over. China, Russia and some predictable others brought draft outlines that predictably rubber hose the feet of freedom. Luckily the UN ITU can't regulate the 'net. They can, however, do some very real harm by giving authoritative regimes an international treaty to point at and say "look, the UN said it's okay to filter and spoof and cut access whenever we feel like it." Which stinks.
